Attend World Congress of Nephrology 2013
The WCN is taking place in Hong Kong
May 31, 2013.
The CSN International Health Committee will advance the cause of improving global kidney health.
At present, the committee largely serves as a forum for its members to share their nephrology global health expertise with each other and to provide support and ideas for each other’s respective projects in various global health settings.
The committee also oversees the CSN International fellowships that are available annually to Nephrology trainees who wish to participate in nephrology global health electives or placements in global health settings around the world.
The committee welcomes new members who either wish to become more involved in Nephrology global health activities or who wish to share their own experiences and expertise in the field.
The committee plans to hold a strategic planning meeting at the upcoming World Congress of Nephrology Satellite Meeting on Kidney Disease in Disadvantaged Populations (April 12-14th, 2011) in Victoria, B.C. During this meeting we plan to develop a new mission statement and a series of long and short term goals for the committee so that we can expand our activities to include further mentorship of young nephrologists in global health and increase the committee’s activities to include more advocacy-based activities such as awareness and prevention of chronic kidney disease in the developing world.
