CSN Membership includes full membership in the International Society of Nephrology.

Attend World Congress of Nephrology 2013
The WCN is taking place in Hong Kong
May 31, 2013.
Active CSN Member: MD
Any person holding the degree of Doctor of Medicine or its equivalent who has demonstrated a major and continued interest in nephrology. In judging the eligibility of a candidate for active membership, the following shall be considered:
- Acceptable research or clinical training in Nephrology;
- Significant clinical experience as a specialist and consultant in kidney disease and related conditions;
- Publication of at least one meritorious paper in the field of Nephrology.
Active MD membership includes ISN membership.
Active CSN Member: MD (CAPN)
Any member of the Canadian Association of Pediatric Nephrologists (CAPN) is eligible to apply for active membership in the Canadian Society of Nephrology.
Any person holding the degree of Doctor of Medicine or its equivalent who has demonstrated a major and continued interest in nephrology. In judging the eligibility of a candidate for active membership, the following shall be considered:
- Acceptable research or clinical training in Nephrology;
- Significant clinical experience as a specialist and consultant in kidney disease and related conditions;
- Publication of at least one meritorious paper in the field of Nephrology.
Active MD (CAPN) membership includes ISN membership.
Associate (Trainee) Member
Individuals in an accredited nephrology fellowship or Master/Doctorate of Science program may be admitted as associate members. Those members shall have all the benefits of the active members without the requirement of the payment of dues but may not vote, serve on the Board of Directors or hold office. Their application must be recommended by the director of their training/research program. The program/research directors must also be a member of the Society.
Non MD Member
Any person holding a Doctor of Philosophy or its equivalent, or holding a qualification in nursing or an allied health discipline, who has demonstrated a major and continued interest in nephrology. In judging the eligibility of a candidate for active membership, the following shall be considered:
- acceptable clinical or research training in a kidney related field
- significant clinical experience caring for patients with kidney disease
- publication of at least one meritorious paper in the field of nephrology
Renal Pharmacist
Individual holding a degree in Pharmacy and a valid membership in the Canadian Renal Pharmacists Network who has demonstrated a continued interest in nephrology. In judging the eligibility of a candidate for active membership, the following shall be considered:
- acceptable clinical or research training in a kidney related field
- significant clinical experience caring for patients with kidney disease
Corresponding Member
Individuals meeting the criteria for active membership but having permanent residence and a place of practice outside of Canada may apply to become corresponding members of the Society. Corresponding members may not hold office or vote at meetings of the Society. Corresponding members will receive electronic communication regarding Society activities and will not be required to pay an annual fee.
