 | Dr. Brendan BarrettDr. Brendan Barrett is a graduate of University College Cork, Ireland. He has been in Canada since 1987. He is currently a nephrologist with Eastern Health based in St. John’s in Newfoundland. He is a Professor of Medicine at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Provincial Medical Director of the Kidney Program. Apart from clinical work, Dr. Barrett is involved in the undergraduate and postgraduate curricula at Memorial University’s Medical School. He also teaches in a graduate degree program for Clinical Epidemiology. His current research interests include Contrast-Induced nephropathy, Care of patients with chronic kidney disease, Experiences of Patient Life on Hemodialysis, Clinical Trials in Hypertension and a range of health care delivery projects with emphasis on Evaluation of Health Care Programs. |

 | Dr. Susan QuagginDr. Susan Quaggin is a nephrologist and associate professor at the University of Toronto. She has appointments to the Keenan Research Center and the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute in Toronto, and is an associate editor of JASN.

 | Dr. Kevin BurnsDr. Burns is a Professor of Medicine, Senior Scientist, and Director of the Kidney Research Centre at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, University of Ottawa. He is a Past President of the CSN, and is the Chair of the Steering Committee of the KRESCENT Program. His basic research program is focused on the function of the intrarenal renin-angiotensin system, including the role of the enzyme ACE2. |

Dr. Phil Marsden is a nephrologist and professor of medicine at the University of Toronto. He is the Oreopoulos-Baxter Division Director of Nephrology at the University of Toronto and a member of the editorial board for the New England Journal of Medicine.

 | Dr. Adeera LevinDr. Levin is Professor of Medicine at University of BC, and Executive director of the BC Provincial Renal Agency, charged with fiscal and organizational responsibilities for renal patient care. She is the Chair of Curriculum Committee for the National KRESCENT (Kidney Research and Education Scientist Education Training Program. She is Secretary General of the International Society of Nephrology and serves on KDIGO, an international guideline development group. Research and clinical activities are focused on CKD, co morbidities in CKD, mechanisms of disease and health outcomes research. She is actively mentors young investigators in CKD related research. She was awarded the Providence Health Care Senior Scientist Research Mission Award in 2008, and the Kidney Foundation of Canada John Dossetor Research Mission award in 2009 for her contributions to Canadian Nephrology Research. She has over 200 peer reviewed publications, numerous book chapters, and is on the editorial boards of NDT, CJASN and AJKD. She is subject editor for CKD in NDT. She reviews papers for numerous Nephrology journals as well. |
 | Dr. Francois MadoreDr. Madore is a senior clinical scientist in epidemiology at Université de Montréal. He is the director of the research center at Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur de Montréal. Dr. Madore's research interests focus on the role of biomarkers and predictors of cardiovascular disease in patients with chronic kidney disease. Dr. Madore is a scholar of the Fonds de la recherche en santé du Québec (FRSQ). Research funding in recent years include operating grants from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Kidney Foundation of Canada. |
 | Dr. York PeiDr. Pei is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto and a Staff Nephrologist at the Toronto General Hospital, University Health Network. He obtained his research training in Clinical Epidemiology at McMaster University and later on, in Human Molecular Genetics in Toronto. The major theme of his research program is to identify genetic factors involved in the initiation or progression of common kidney diseases, as potential targets for novel diagnostic tests and therapies. His research focuses on genetic, genomic and translational research of three common kidney disorders: autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease, IgA nephropathy and idiopathic nephrotic syndrome, and is supported by grants from the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Physicians Incorporated Foundation, and Canadian Institutes of Health Research. He has published over 80 peer-reviewed papers and has served in the Editorial Board for the Journal of American Society of Nephrology and Grant Review Panels for the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Canadian Institutes of Health Research, and National Institutes of Health, USA. He is currently a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee for the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation, USA. |
 | Dr. Amit GargDr. Amit Garg is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology & Biostatistics at the University of Western Ontario. He practices nephrology at the London Health Sciences Centre and his clinical expertise is in the evaluation of potential living kidney donors. Dr. Garg conducts clinical and health services research to improve health outcomes for patients with kidney diseases including those receiving dialysis or a kidney transplant. He also aims to improve the efficiency by which renal care is delivered. He currently holds a Clinician Scientist Award from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. His is the acting Director of the London Kidney Clinical Research Unit, and the acting Scientific Director of the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences, University of Western Ontario site. amit.garg@lhsc.on.ca |
