Clinical Practice Guidelines

This section provides links to other web-based guidelines. These guidelines are not necessarily related directly to Nephrology, but it was felt that these would be a useful resource to nephrologists.

Ontario Guidelines Advisory Committee

The Ontario Guidelines Advisory Committee (GAC), a joint body of the Ontario Medical Association and the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care with ex-officio representation from the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences , was formed in 1997. The Committee reports to the Physician Services Committee (PSC).

The Committee mandate is to: (1) develop and recommend appropriate strategies for the implementation and monitoring of practice and referral guidelines, (2) make recommendations for assisting in the implementation of prescribing guidelines, and (3) consult widely with the profession in the development of its recommendations.
